Keep of the grass??
Beautiful Elkhart Lake
Portland trifecta
Had a lucky break with relatively less cloudy sky. The plane took off from the Portland airport towards the Pacific Ocean. And then banked right to take an about turn – giving me one of those rare sights from the window seat.
Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams – all in the same frame. The picture was taken from about 20,000 feet and climbing and about a 100 linear miles away from Mt. Rainier with an iPhone…

No trip to Portland is ever complete…
Which airport am I in? #14 in series
Well, there should not be any points for guessing this one. I cannot think of any other airport whose motto is “If the airlines did not do a good job in separating you from your money, welcome to our airport!” Which other airport has casino slot machine all over?
“You just arrived at our city to lose a lot of money in the casinos? Why not get a head start even before you can reach the baggage carousel?” Speaking of which – forget inside the airport – they have slot machines lined up AT the baggage pick up! “You got your luggage? Why bother going to the hotel? Start losing money, right now, right here!!”
The real funny part? People are actually playing at these machines!! With a beer in hand too!!!

As I walk from the gate where my plane had pulled up to the exit, I came across these beautiful panels of art on the walls along the corridor. The art work is by a local artist Marguerita Hagan. She has designed and created in porcelain the creatures of the deep sea. The intricate detail and the exquisite beauty of marine life has been very vividly created – as I said in porcelain.
She covers the whole ecosystem: diatoms, star colonies, corals, sea anemone, sea dragon, squid, manta ray, puffer fish and what have you!! Extremely interesting!!
