I was waiting for my nephew in Atlanta airport. He was flying in from California. There is a very interesting feature that has been added for the folks waiting to receive people.

There is a huge screen there. And the screen is streaming cameras that shows the folks as they are coming up the escalator from the underground train.

That was cool. I could spot my nephew (the young gentleman with the red jacket) as he came up the escalator, got a little confused whether to go left or right and then came out from his left. In fact, I could take quite a few pictures of him as he emerged!

Nice touch!

Or as my dad used to call it “Narkoler khela” (“The coconut game”!!).

Nephew and I walking to Boarding Pass coffee place for me to jump on to work meetings and he to do his stuff. Not sure what I was doing in this picture but I think I was explaining the answer to a logic puzzle I had asked him previous night while walking back from Central City Tavern after seeing the Thursday Night Football.

He really likes the library environment in America. One curious observation… The patrons who were coming in and out were overwhelmingly Indian and that too, they were coming in with the whole family!

This is a Tequila sunrise without the tequila, of course.

The kids make “luchi” (deep fried puffed bread) every year for our traditional “luchi” – “aloor dum” – “payesh” lunch. This time the nephew was part of the “luchi” crew!

… like they used to many moons back during our annual trip to Kolkata at my brother’s place.

Spent the afternoon chatting with my nephew by the river. Somehow he does not feel the weather to be as cold as I feel. And he just came from India! Go figure!!

Hopefully, the first among many to follow!!
