A fallen soldier arrives for the last journey…

First time experience in over twenty years of flying… Preparations going on to receive a fallen soldier (in the hearse on the left) with full honors on the Tarmac.

There was something about the whole situation. Many fliers stopped and watched in silence… some saluted in respect before walking off to their own flights…

    In New Delhi it is a daily affair. So common that a permanent granite slab with ‘Amar Jawan’ engraved on it has been built on one side of the Tarmac with a flag bedecked trolley on standby. Felt sad every time I passed by it.
