5K race at Woodstock with my friend of 15 years Sunil Roy. Thanks Sunil for coming all the way from Texas to run with me. — with Sunil Roy at Main Street Woodstock.
Last week, my friend Roger Whitney said something that made a big impression on me. He said, “you make your wealth by working. You invest to protect the wealth.” Implication being if you are trying to be rich from your investments, better make that your full time job!! — withRoger Whitney at Key Bridge Marriott.
First time I have run with two generations in the same family. 5 mile run with Rish (13 years age) today. Ran the half marathon with his mom Mita (of classified age :-)) in Dallas two years back. Rish plays football, basketball and track for his school (12 sec 100 yard dash). Probably explains why instead of my extra hot latte, I am having a caramel frapuccino with him at Starbucks 😉 — with Rish Basu and Mita Basu at Starbucks 9830.
That was a great end to the evening. Surprise dinner with the Mukherjees to celebrate Anusuya’s birthday. A few jokes, a few songs, a little wine, some Bengali “mishti” but a lot of “adda” … that was perfect!!! — with Amitesh Mukherjee
Usually, when we mention to friends in Atlanta that we went to Dallas to vacation in summer, the usual response is “But, why?” 🙂 True, it is hot and humid in Texas and really not that many places to go to. But after living in Dallas for 15 years, all our friends who became family in this country for us live there. We went to visit them. I missed taking pictures of my best friends – Madhumita and Basu – but we have captured many other in this video…
This is my friend Debjyoti from Atlanta. He is one of the most fun guys I have ever come across. The true epitome of “bindas”, as Bengalis will say. You are guaranteed never to have a dull moment with him around. If you ever meet him, ask him about his experience about being a DJ and I will rest my case. Also, if you do meet him, call him “DJ” or his preferred way – “Raja”.
A die-hard Giants fan, his antics during the Super Bowl kept all of us entertained. He certainly had the last laugh as Giants stunned the Patriots.
