Pleasant surprise in the running trail
I was just beginning my run this morning when I ran into two friends that I rarely – if ever – see in the trail – Payel Routh and Arunima Saha and their daughters! Apparently they do this very regularly. However, they start at a very early hour – 6am. Which is why I never get to see them.
Good to see more and more of my Bengali friends coming out to run/walk regularly. You probably saw the big Chalupa group picture the other day. But Payel and Arunima has done what few Chalupa runners do (any??) – do it at 6am!!!
That is some dedication!

Started the month with a longer run
100K month after a couple of years
Came very close to the milestone in May but missed it by 4K. Ironically, three years back, this month was a 100 mile (160K) month for me. Motorcycle and stamina have eaten into my miles. Let’s see how long I can keep up wioth this.

Picking up the longer runs again…
Attacked by a dinosaur
This is how flooded the trail area was
Hopefully I will not jinx this…
Early morning run
Trying to get back to some running discipline. How I am trying to trick myself is by waking up early in the morning and then getting the physical exercise part done first thing before even my body can start complaining!
Completely overcast sky. The temperatures were low 70s. A constant breeze kept the ambience fairly enjoyable. The humidity of early mornings is, of course, the penalty you pay.
4 miles in my usual trail!!

Longest run for Nikita
Last year on this day Nikita and I had put in a 5K run in Fowler Park. Today we went a little longer and did 4 miles (6.5K). It was early in the morning – cool (72 degrees) but humid. We kept a steady 12 minute/mile pace and finished the full distance without any break.
And then did a few sprints after the run!
