An interesting contraption
View of the Tasman Sea
The southern most point of the world we have ever been!
Bruny Island Lighthouse. 43.5° S
This is the most south we have ever been!!
We could not get out of the car to see it from outside. The rains had started and the winds were really strong. I mean strong enough that while trying to switch driving, I got out of the car and could not move forward – I was being pushed back so hard. Niki did not even bother coming out. She just jumped from driver’s seat to the passenger side!
More dirt road
After that 10 miles of dirt road, when the GPS said “Lighthouse Road”, we were a bit relieved. Our assumption wa that it would be an asphalt road. Instead we were greeted with 20 more kilometers of dirt road! But it was wider and relatively smooth. Reminded us of the dirt road to our old house a lot!
Spotted a wallaby !!
Niki was driving on the dirt road to our next stop – the lighthouse. The 10 miles of road were really broken and full of potholes. As we kept our focus on the road, she suddenly screamed “Wallaby”. And indeed, there was the marsupial crossing the road. Unfortunately, it was too fast for me to grab a picture!
