My Humpty Dumpty moment

As if the slowing down in pace and the shortening of the distances for my run over the years is not humiliating enough, today I took a nasty fall. My worst one in a long time. Caught a large crack in the sidewalk and unceremoniously face planted on the hard concrete.

Fortunately managed to save the face and glasses. The left knee and the two palms took it hard. And the iPhone screen is shot šŸ™ Looks like the bones have been spared. The bruises and one of the nails burn, though.

Just to recover some of the old running grit, took in the pain and went for another four miles.

Intersection point with a friend of 22 years!

For most people, it is usually I who visits them in their town. That is because I am on the road a lot. However, I think Pavan has met me more number of times in my town than the other way round. She is a road warrior too.

Got to see her again in Atlanta during her business visit this week. Coincidentally, in exactly the same hotel as I had met her four years back!!

It was good catching up about our old i2 friends and her family! One of these days, hopefully, she will make it to our house too!

A nerd’s dream come true

As if writing full page letters – on monogrammed paper and with fountain pens – and then sealing the envelope with wax and a personal seal was not nerdy enough, I think I have managed to take it to the next level of nerdiness. Now I have 24 different colors of wax beads, a formal set up to melt the wax (no more of the candle version – you actually heat up the wax beads in a small spoon over a tealight candle) and highlighter pens to accentuate the seal.

It is a sheer irony that to show you all these forms of archaic communication, I have to use the internet and social media platforms like Facebook šŸ™‚

Okay, now I need all of you to call me for dinner or lunch at your place. I need to write a lot of thank you letters to try out all the different colors of wax!
