It was a cold day. Pop’s Coffee Shop was the perfect place to grab a hot cappuccino and catch up with Arup and Sheuly. Arup and I have not run together in a long time. Our miles have come down a lot and most of them are solo runs. We had a lot of ground to cover today given we are going thru roughly the same phases of life with two daughters, both having changed houses recently and both having not played the tabla for some time!!

I had not seen the good old Bengali women’s group in some time. Ran into them in Halcyon as they were coming out of Rakhi’s birthday celebratory dinner.

I was promptly put to use to take everybody’s pictures!

Had a great time with the grandson of David. Who, together with his wife Angela, owns one of my favorite coffee places – Fuel Coffee. Happiest kiddo (the grandson, not David, obviously) I have ever seen!!

Got the stamp of approval from my favorite “gujju ben”

… is that I sometimes get to meet my colleagues’ families. I was in Charlotte and Jessica and I were going to spend some time after all the meetings. Turned out it was a Election Day and her daughter’s (Harper) school was closed.

Which meant, I got to spend the evening with not only Jessica but also Harper. She reminded of my younger daughter at that age throughout the evening!! It was a lovely chat!

The discussions this morning somehow centered around the Byzantine empire!!!

I ate way too much. Great discussions with Vivek. One of the rare guys with very thoughtful questions.
