Jay Jay catching his forty winks
He was not very happy when I told him we are not going to downtown today. We will sit in the patio and I will read a book and he can watch people. That did not appeal to him. He did not even bother opening his eyes to look at the people and dogs going up and down the street! It was like he was going “I am going to be like this. You just tell me when you are done so we can go inside!”

Quiet evening with Jay Jay
Sharmila was not home. So, both of us sat in a corner of Chiringa and had some quiet time. I caught up with some reading – a book and the Economist – and he focused on people watching. (completely ignored the dogs trying to get his attention).

We reached a compromise
Every night before we go to bed, Jay Jay engages me in a veritable battle of wits. I try to get him to sleep in his own bed (on the floor right next to our bed) and he makes mincemeat of all my coaxing and cajoling and jumps on to our bed and settles in comfortably.
After a couple of rounds of to and fro this night, we finally settled for a compromise!
