The rural roads of North Georgia were all empty save for a other motorbike riders. A long 80 mile road on a beautiful sunny days in the winding roads of Cherokee, Pickens and Dawson county.

Those miles had started slowing down, what with me being home only for the weekends. And Sharmila has steadfastly refused to let me move my motorbike to Chicago.

One silver lining in this virus is that I am being able to pick up on my motorbike miles. And if you think face masks is good to prevent you from getting the virus, you should check out my helmet 🙂

While in elementary/middle school, mom always made me (as the eldest child) go to the market to do the groceries. I did not mind it much since that gave me an excuse to take our family bicycle out for a ride. Plus, I got a candy as a bribe (which used to bristle my sister no end).

Now, I have to do the same for my wife. Although, the bike now comes with a motor attached to it! I did not get any candy. So, I rewarded myself with a 60 miles detour on my way home!

Speaking of similarities, I still get yelled at for buying the wrong stuff!

60 miles for me. 90 for Avi​​ and Rakesh​​. We met up at the end at Mazzy’s in Milton.

Motorbike ride and lunch with Sharmila in Ballground. Ran into Avi there first and eventually Rakesh and Manoj (riding separately) showed up too!
Lovely day for a ride! The sun felt great in one of those rare non-raining days in Atlanta.

Finished up with a coffee with Ashok

It was 41 degrees and I was bundled up with more layers than I could count. Funny part? Met half a dozen other motorbikers during my hour long ride!!

Rode the motorbike up to Ballground, GA and found a nearby coffee place with an interesting name – Barrel House Coffee Company. Once inside, got to meet the owner – Ryan, who explained the name to me. He ages the coffee beans in bourbon barrels for a month to two months and then roasts them. Tried out a cappuccino. Tasted pretty nice.

Presently, Rakesh, who was also out and about in his motorbike, joined me there. It was a good ride and some very interesting coffee!
