Classic one from Mirza Ghalib

“Hum ne mohabbaton ke nashe mein aa kar
Usey khuda bana daala,
Hosh tab aaya jab usne kaha
Ke khuda kisi ek ka nahi hota”

Roughly translated:

“Intoxicated in my love for her
I accepted her as my God
I got back to my senses when she told me
God does not belong to any one person”

Abhi, not extensively, but yes. In fact, this weekend I was talking to a backpacking Iraninan friend of mine who recently went to Konya for the Mevlana (Rumi) festival. One thing I learnt is that Iranians and Turkish people both claim Rumi was from their country.
