… I know exactly what I will do to remember our times together… watch Phineas and Ferb!! I am sure I will be too old to do the things we do today – calculus or crosswords or 9×9 Kenkens or try to beat the 15 minute deadline to write out all country names in Sporcle – but I can always watch Phineas and Ferb.

We simply love the humor. Nothing like dad and daughter enjoying some simple humor. The elder one had decided by this age that dad is something to be embarrassed of. This one has not gotten to that point yet!

Our favorite episode is the Baljeetles… Baljeet – the Indian kid who always scores A and loves doing math (the stereotype is true!!) has this conversation with Phineas and his adopted brother with British accent (and who seldom talks)…

Phineas: “What do you do when you are angry?”
Baljeet: “Math”
Phineas: “Ok… what about when you are sad?”
Baljeet: “Math”
Phineas: “Happy?”
Baljeet: “Ma-aaath”
Phineas: “So every feeling you have makes you want to do math?”
Baljeet: “I do not know if it is so much cause and effect…. I do a lot of math. The feelings come and go.”

In a class of correlation (versus causation), that would be a mic drop moment!

After the long bike rides to and fro in 90+ deg F temperatures, with the safety jackets on (which makes it fairly warm inside), came back home to find Nikita and Sharmila cooling it off in the pool.

Soon I joined and then got the dog in too after some time!!!

He slept thru the whole game. Once in a while he stuck out his tongue at some of my terrible throws. (Carefully observe his face in the picture!)

This was last Sunday. Nikita and I went out on one our favorite things to do together these days – driving! She is the latest driver in the house and we often go for very long drives. We drove around for about an hour and a half thru rural roads and state highways. Eventually, we were within a mile of our house when I asked her to pull over at Union – a great restaurant in the middle of forests – literally walking distance from our house.

We sat at the bar outside, away from other people to social distance and I grabbed a gin and tonic and she got an iced tea and we chatted for another forty five minutes there!!

Looking forward to another such drive this weekend.

Last evening, Sharmila and I headed out to have a drink by the lake. We thought we would try out Allatoona Lake for a change. Half way thru the drive, I was checking the GPS to make sure I was headed the right way when I realized that the restaurant by the lake was closed on Tuesdays.

We were within 10 minutes of Woodstock downtown and there is a bar there I have wanted to try out for quite some time. We were soon there. It is a bar (Rootstock and Vine) on the rooftop overlooking the main intersection of Woodstock downtown. It was great weather – cloudy, cool and breezy. There was enough social distancing and masks around. I would wear it only when I had to talk to Nicole and Abby who were serving us. It would have been disastrous if I tried drinking wine while having the mask on, needless to say.
