Goodbye 2009

As always, the family overwhelmingly voted to spend the year end with our old friends and family from Dallas. Well, we do not have any family there but the friends are as close as family. We absolutely had a blast. Here are some of the memories captures in pictures.

Dallas Memories

Usually, when we mention to friends in Atlanta that we went to Dallas to vacation in summer, the usual response is “But, why?” 🙂 True, it is hot and humid in Texas and really not that many places to go to. But after living in Dallas for 15 years, all our friends who became family in this country for us live there. We went to visit them. I missed taking pictures of my best friends – Madhumita and Basu – but we have captured many other in this video…

Smokies – Roys and Haldars

This summer we were fortunate enough to host a lot of our friends at our place. In July, the Haldars and the Roys visited us from Dallas. We spent a couple of days in the Smoky Mountains with them. These are some video clippings from the trip – specially the trek to the Laurel Waterfalls

Giant leap for mankind

This is my friend Debjyoti from Atlanta. He is one of the most fun guys I have ever come across. The true epitome of “bindas”, as Bengalis will say. You are guaranteed never to have a dull moment with him around. If you ever meet him, ask him about his experience about being a DJ and I will rest my case. Also, if you do meet him, call him “DJ” or his preferred way – “Raja”.

A die-hard Giants fan, his antics during the Super Bowl kept all of us entertained. He certainly had the last laugh as Giants stunned the Patriots.

Dallas Family

We were in Dallas for the better part of 14 years. This slideshow captures some of the most memorable moments we had with our Extended Family in Dallas – the Bengali friends that made the stay so much worthwhile. We wish our friends form Dallas the very best.
