Fifth half marathon of the year and three months of 100 miles each. The trail had multiple interruptions with big fallen trees that had destroyed the boardwalk.

Ran into an old colleague, fellow runner and avid marathoner Paul Gourley in the trail. Twice!!

With winter being as warm as it was this year, I almost forgot how cold it can get even this time of the year. It was 25 deg Fahrenheit and then 14 miles per hour wind made the windchill temperatures of 15 degrees F early in the morning in Dayton, Ohio.

Partly because of the cold weather (I just wanted to get it over with) and partly due to the complete flatness of the terrain, that was a quick 5K in 25 minutes by the Great Miami River.

6 miles and 63 floors in 53 minutes.

Got back to running after resting for four days. Tested the left hamstring in the front 4 miles by slowing to 42 min 15 seconds. Felt strong enough to speed up and returned in 36 minutes and 15 seconds…

For once, I am on the ground and not in that plane 🙂

The goal was to try and put a sub 2 hour half marathon (13.1 miles). Missed it by a stinking minute 🙁 2 hours 0 minutes 58 seconds to be precise…

Since I am not going to run till Mar 1st, spent some time putting running stats for the month together instead… 🙂
