Speaking of wild goose chase
I bet this has never happened to you. Sharmila asked me to pick up the laundry on my way back. I, of course, dutifully did it. Or rather, attempted to. I showed up at the laundry place and the lady gave me a puzzled look for some time and then blurted out “But your wife already picked up the laundry five days back”!!! So, I just bought some gin and vodka from the shop next door 🙂
Rainy run
It is 61! In Milton! In Jan!!
Some wise man once said “Climate is what you expect. Weather is what you get”. How true!
Two years back, this week in Jan was so cold and so much ice and snow that my car could not even get to the property gate. Before I could clear the last hill, it slipped all the way down off road and stopped between two trees!! Today, it is a balmy spring like 61!! Go figure!
A relative fast 5K run…
Another run by Oconee
Run by Lake Oconee
9 minutes!
First Sunday Bengali run of the year
First Sunday morning Bengali run. I was the only one who showed up 🙁 Well, I have the whole Starbucks to myself now 😉
Paid dearly for not packing my barefoot shoes for India. (Ran in my travel sneakers). Lot of pain in left lower calf muscle and a weird pain on my right foot right under where you have the shoelace knot. At around one mile, there was a sudden searing pain. I jumped up in surprise and pain. Could not put my foot down. After a few minutes, ran slowly back taking care to land on the outer edge of the foot. Any of you have had this problem before?
Dallas Trip
Tables turned on me. Usually it is the family who drops me at the airport. Today I dropped them on their way to Dallas. Can’t remember when was the last time the three girls flew by themselves without me. The last 30 minutes were hilarious. I kept on giving instructions to Sharmila Roy how to get the boarding pass, where the luggage drop is, when to board the plane and she kept reminding me how to operate the dishwasher, how long to microwave the food and such 🙂 — at Atlanta Hartfield airport.
Forgetting my gloves….
Yasser Alkazzaz, thanks for asking but No, I did not forget my gloves today. You see, gloves are like anniversaries. You need to forget only once. You WILL remember forever thereafter 🙂
