Lia Knower
Sunday morning 4mile run at 9:16 pace with the indomitable Samaresh Mukhopadhyay. Somewhere in our third mile, we saw a couple of other runners and I was like – “I know ‘er. It’s Knower 🙂 “. Always great to catch up withLia Knower – one of those rare friends I have that run for 100 miles…. in one go!! That makes her simultaneously certifiably crazy as well as an inspiration for me every time I want to give up after 8 or 9 miles of running 🙂

Greece’s woes
Sequencing
Familiar Thursday evening situation: On a flight returning home. Have not posted a puzzle in some time. So, here is one…
What is the next number in the following sequence?
4, 6, 12, 18, 30, 42, 60, 72, 102, …
(If you know the answer send me a personal message)
Disclaimer: I remember this puzzle vividly from my college days because after two days I simply gave up 🙁
Niki’s husband
This morning, as I left for office dragging my overnighter with me, Niki asked Sharmila “where is Daddy going?” Sharmila explained that after office I will fly to DC but will be back tomorrow. Nikita felt that was a lot of effort for just one day (I guess she thinks all flights are as onerous as her trips to India 🙂 ). Anyways, Sharmila explained that sometimes you have to work very hard at your job. Nikita thought for a second and as she walked away, explained to her sleepover friend Kylie “See, when I grow up, I am not doing any such thing. I will let the husband do all the hard work” 🙂
Let the record show that her mom side genes are dominant 🙂 — at Delta Skyclub ATL terminal B.
To Duke
Half way to dropping Tasha at Duke University. She has packed more luggage than the whole family packed for the whole India trip for the same time!! Why do girls pack their entire life when they go somewhere? — at Paco’s Tacos & Tequila.
Home, sweet home!
My mark sheet!
While in India, dug up this gem – my first grade report card!! Note the teacher’s advise on improving my handwriting 🙂 Subsequently, thru the years, other teachers added a few more things for me to improve on… and then the wife came along and added a whole lot more to the list 🙂 but my handwriting never quite improved 🙂 The crowning ignominy was in eighth grade, when my teacher demanded that I practice one page of handwriting every day during summer vacation. I finished the whole assignment in the last two days of vacation. You can only imagine the output 🙂 Much later in life, inspired by my friend Aditya Garg, I picked up calligraphy and went back to fountain pens!! Oh! The irony!!! 🙂
Starbucks!!
Splashdown!! To Terra Firma… or rather Terra USA. Straight into 4 cups of Starbucks coffee!!! No amount of immigration or custom checks confirm that we are back home as much as the first sip of Starbucks!!! — at John F Kennedy International Airport.
