As I finished up my 5 mile run this morning, I noticed that a fire engine as blocking my car. And all the Starbucks baristas were standing outside. Turns out there was a electrical short and a fire scare.

We could not go inside. And I could not pull my car out. So I chatted with the baristas standing outside till they fixed the problem. Then settled down with my coffee….

Put in a 5K before the group showed up and then posted another 5K with the group… Check out the color coordination for Sharmila and myself 🙂

During the morning run this morning stopped by multiple times to take pictures of flowers by the roadside completely drenched in rain.

Probably the last sub-freezing temp run of this season. Will miss the cold runs… Hopefully the warmer temps mean I will put longer distances….
5K in 28F

The prospect of impending rain did not keep the Chalupa runners from showing up! Fortunately, the rains held up till just about the time we finished. What was amazing was that we had an elementary school student – Raya – who had gone to sleep at 2 am the previous night (late night party) – showed up nevertheless and ran with us. You can see me and her in the picture going “toe-to-toe” so to speak 🙂 to symbolize that she was ready to match the adults at every step of stamina and strength.
Two high schoolers – Mishtu and Pooja as well as a middle schooler – Remi were there too. Pooja and I ran the “fast mile” together. We clocked at 7:15 min/mile. By the way, we need to find out why the young boys of our group are sleeping in when the girls are coming out to run.
It was good to see Sudipto, Nachiketa and the ever reliable Samaresh, Malobika and Ashok on the trail. It was even better to have the coffee together at Starbucks!!

10K (6.2M) run in Alpharetta. Lovely spring morning. Finished run, stretched and then went inside Starbucks to pick up a drink. And ran into good old Ananda Rakhit. Had not seen him in quite some time. Was a good catch up meeting. Then had to run for all the weekend chauffeuring duties….

Morning run in midtown Atlanta. At one point, I stopped at a traffic light and looked up and poof! The top of the building had vanished in thin air!!! 🙂

5K in Milton hills. Starbucks coffee. In other words, so far an uneventful morning 🙂

Two surviving members of the Chalupa clan today. Trail run in rain and cold. The near desolate trail was incredibly beautiful in the rain. The overnight rain had the creeks gushing with water. The big trees were dripping constantly.
As we finished up our run, a lady who was just starting her run, summed it up best as we passed each other – “What a beautiful morning”!
Amen!!!

Raining constantly. Only one other person in the trail. Not a single Chalupa has shown up yet….
