Mind you – we are not talking about a garden snake here. A viper, no less! One of the most poisonous snakes!! (Vipers have killed more human beings than all other snake species put together)
Today nobody was there in the rink. Used the main area. Made quite a few mistakes while trying to increase speed. Fortunately did not fall down – came fairly close once though. Also tried mount-dismount motion (three times) in one roll. Not coming as naturally yet…
That is how she described me as she sent this video to a common friend. Tried out Union Hill Park skating rink for the first time. Took her there in case I came back with some extra pieces of bone.
There were two young guys practicing their tricks. To save myself from too much embarrassment, I went and introduced myself to them first.
“How long have you guys been doing this?”
“Oh! about 4 years.”
“Cool. I am just getting started. I am too old for this. But I want to try.”
Instead of laughing it away, the younger kid did a whole old man thingy on me – “It does not matter how old you are. You gotta do it as long as you are having fun”.
I was not expecting that from a young kid.
“Thanks for the encouragement, man!”, I said and went off to my corner.
After I was done practicing, the kids gave me a couple of tips on how to pick up the board without bending. They were doing it in a fluid motion. I was dropping the board all over the place!!
But it was fun! And a young guy once told me to keep doing it as long as I was having fun!!
In preparing for an internal meeting on how we to deal with the Delta variant (from business point of view), I was trying to Google “How are ceos responding to Delta variant”. Check out the suggestions Google had to offer when I got to “How are CEOs responding to”
I believe the name Tangaroa means the God of Ocean – Polynesian and Maori mythology. The drinks is in line with that visual of ocean beaches and hot summers. It is a mango based cocktail.
1 ounce of white rum and amber rum each, 1/4 ounce of amaretto and lime juice and 2 ounces of mango juice.
This morning, I went to check out the new skateboarding rink. Good news – there were no kids there to laugh at me 🙂 On my way back, I went to the Starbucks that the old Sunday morning Bengali running group usually hangs out after the run.
I have not run with this group in probably over a couple of years. Even the coffee visits have become fairly rare. It was good to catch up with the old and new runners…
Tried another set of hills in Milton today. Took it easy and slow for the 5K today. Most of the run was on concrete sidewalk. Couple of niggles in the right foot (very old injury) but not very bothersome.
Usually Sundays are the days I drop by at Barrel House Coffee in Ballground, GA. Get to catch up on some reading and blog writing as well as meet up with my familiar friends there. Today, I decided to show up on a Saturday after a longish ride.
Good news is that I got to see Kevin after quite some time. Got a chance to catch up on his software coding of video games (I believe he has switched to Godot from Unity – still doing C#). The ever charming duo of Autumn and Allison were there too. Found out that Margot got a great opportunity over the weekend and has moved to Birmingham!
