For all you Old Fashioned lovers…
maybe I should have written it as all you lovers of the cocktail named Old Fashioned…. đ
If are ever in downtown San Fran, do go to the bar inside The Clancy Autograph collection hotel and ask for Fortunato. And then ask him to make you his signature Old Fashioned.
His variations include using maple syrup instead of simple syrup and orange bitters instead of usual bitters. Finally, he smokes it by burning hickory chips.
DELICIOUS!!

Faster run this morning
Ran with Samaresh and Andrew Percher this morning. Andrew kept pacing us harder. I was able to keep up for 2.5 miles (and even then he was taking it easy on me) – after that, I had to slow down. 4 miles run with the first mile and last mile coming at 10 min/mile. The second mile was at 9:30 min/mile and the third one at 9:20 min/mile.

Guess who gives me company during my letter writings now?
From the bartender’s corner – 15th State Cocktail
The 15th state to join the union (USA) was Kentucky. So, of course, the name is a give away to the fact that this is a Bourbon (indigenous to Kentucky) cocktail. In addition to Bourbon, it has, sweet Vermouth and Maraschino liqueur.
Fairly rich on the palate. Relatively lighter on the nose and length…

This evening’s practice
Letter writing on a Sunday evening
After a long time, accepted a dinner invitation this weekend. (I usually do not enjoy parties). Which meant, of course, writing out a Thank you letter. That is the most fun part of any party to me.
Brought out a pen I had bought in 2014 from the Atlanta Fountain Pen show. The body is a mix of light yellow and green. Went with green ink for this letter!
