Beautiful. Came to rajibroy.com just a few minutes ago to read a post you shared two years ago about visiting my mother in Kolkata and was greeted by this beautiful tribute to your mom. I am still stuck here. On my third time viewing this video tribute. All she needed to know when I visited them six years ago, was that Bachhu’s friend was in Kalyani visiting them. I could see the excitement, the happiness and I could feel that she was welcoming her own son when I walked into that flat. I could see her rushing into the bedroom and hear that, in an abundance of excitement, telling your father “Bachhu-r bondhu eshechhe ..taratari cholo…”. I could see both of them almost running out of their room, sitting on the chair in the living room. The word that comes to my mind describing my feeling about your parents, during my brief meeting with them, is “simplicity”…I will remember your mom ( and your sister and your neivce) waving good bye to me from downstairs when I drove away in the car and I could see your mom waving as long as I could turn around and see her. Brief memory. I felt like visiting my own family when I was there, even if for a brief period.

Thank you for that tribute to my mom. Products of simpler times, simplicity in our parents’ was as natural then as is anachronistic now.
