Huh? What is that?
Early morning landed up in Atlanta airport not knowing what is in store for me. Delta seems to be limping back to normal. Still a lot of canceled flights. And dislocation of crew. In fact we are waiting for one air more hostess to show up so we can start boarding.
That said, as I walked into the airport, out of curiosity, I checked the departure boards to get a feel for how many flights have been canceled. I was shocked to see that in the very first board, pretty much all flights had been canceled. But I was even more shocked to realize that most of them were headed to Atlanta!! Lest you forgot, I am in Atlanta airport!! And I am looking at the departure board!!!
I had to do some digging to understand what was the bug in the system.
The sad part is all the crews sitting around in the lounge in Atlanta because their flights to Atlanta were cancelled.
Not to speak of the exorbitant round trip fares đŸ™‚
This is what surprises me the most a simple power outage in Atlanta, grounds thousands of flights worldwide, not sure what kind of geo-redundancy Delta have in place.
I think one of the transformers mumbled something like “Allah” in a cellphone. This made an air hostess “uneasy”. She reported to security. Delta came and promptly yanked the transformer from its place. The rest has been history…
Yup. You’re on a list now
Thank God (pick Allah for good measure) you didn’t write this when you are on the plane. The flight attendant would find you menacing and the rest would be the future of your history.
