Have you read about the role the moon plays in accelerating the creation of sentient life? Basically just being the right distance from the sun isn’t enough. A moon is required to generate tidal pools as a catalyst for diversity. Sentient life may still be possible, but it would take a lot longer to get there without a moon. Your post was thought provoking. I liked the contrast of the driftwood caught in the tidal areas responsible for changes that ultimately created us. A cool image of being stuck in the midst of chaotic motion and profound change.
