That is the town of Hobart down below there.

It was cool in terms of temperatures. But the winds were howling at over 50 kmph! The temperature felt like quite a few degrees below freezing per the weatherman!

Sharmila and I strolled into a cafe by the harbor. Right by the window, they had some interesting sitting spaces.. re-purposed bouys!

That would mean the boat has seen three different centuries!

Saw this thing in the harbor when Sharmila and I went out for a walk. It appears to be some kind of a really old crane. It was on rails and had an interesting rotating platform. Looked impressive against the dark clouds.

The rains were coming down hard. And the winds were howling!!

Bruny Island Lighthouse. 43.5° S

This is the most south we have ever been!!

We could not get out of the car to see it from outside. The rains had started and the winds were really strong. I mean strong enough that while trying to switch driving, I got out of the car and could not move forward – I was being pushed back so hard. Niki did not even bother coming out. She just jumped from driver’s seat to the passenger side!

After that 10 miles of dirt road, when the GPS said “Lighthouse Road”, we were a bit relieved. Our assumption wa that it would be an asphalt road. Instead we were greeted with 20 more kilometers of dirt road! But it was wider and relatively smooth. Reminded us of the dirt road to our old house a lot!
