Rain rain come again!!

After two days of running into and in rain, today, I waited for the rains to start heavily and then stepped out for a run! I am now convinced why I do such unintuitive things – I just like being an idiot :-). (or as my wife once said – “quirky”). Reminds me of a song by Nachiketa “Tobu ami boka-i hobo – seta-i amar Ambition” (‘I still want to be the foolish guyย and that is my ambition in life’) ๐Ÿ™‚

Running in the rain

There is something extremely exhilarating to me about running in pouring rain. Not sure whether it is the feeling of being in Nature at its purest form or the sense of defying common sense or simply the subconscious making up for all those lost moments when my parents – of the “thanda legey jaabey” (you will catch a cold)” fame – did not let me go out and play in the rain ๐Ÿ™‚
Anyhow, two consecutive days of running in rain. Best part was walking into the gym dripping and heading straight to the sauna and soak in 150 degrees of dryness!

“The best is yet to come”

During my run today, I was listening to Richard Shure’s “Says you”. There was a quiz question – Whose tombstone says “The best is yet to come”? A panelist’s first guess – which was hilarious – was Charles Darwin. Haha ๐Ÿ™‚ It seems the answer is Frank Sinatra!
That got me thinking… Do any of you have an idea of what you want your epitaph to look like? Can you capture in a few words what you would like the world to recognize you have striven for? (to make this religion-agnostic, how do you want the world to remember you as?).
And, to far little import and importance, it would be enlightening for me to know how you would remember me as if I were to die today. To make it worthwhile, you have to make it within a few words. (unless your name is Sharmila in which case, this could be your final chance to register your long list of complaints against me ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Speaking of wild goose chase

I bet this has never happened to you. Sharmila asked me to pick up the laundry on my way back. I, of course, dutifully did it. Or rather, attempted to. I showed up at the laundry place and the lady gave me a puzzled look for some time and then blurted out “But your wife already picked up the laundry five days back”!!! So, I just bought some gin and vodka from the shop next door ๐Ÿ™‚

It is 61! In Milton! In Jan!!

Some wise man once said “Climate is what you expect. Weather is what you get”. How true!
Two years back, this week in Jan was so cold and so much ice and snow that my car could not even get to the property gate. Before I could clear the last hill, it slipped all the way down off road and stopped between two trees!! Today, it is a balmy spring like 61!! Go figure!
A relative fast 5K run…
