That can only mean one thing – we are off to some place again. First stop – Ontario, CA. Frankly, even I thought that is in Canada. But we are actually going to be in Riverside, California to check in on my nephew (remember him from our September trip there?) and then head out over the ocean tomorrow.
All these years I have been landing and taking off in JFK and never realized that Terminal 5 (which was for TWA airlines that went bankrupt after the crash in 1996 and was bought by American Airlines) is a TWA themed hotel. There are two hotel buildings, the whole decor is that of a throwback to the yesteryears. There are old vintage cars, the checking in counters are for the hotel!, there is a swimming pool overlooking the runway and even an airplane there that has been converted to a bar! Definitely check it out next time you are in JFK!
We are half way to the tarmac from the gate when the plane came to a stop and the pilot announced that there is a weight balance problem in the plane. This is not a small plane mind you – it is an Airbus 319.
I have no idea how you get into weight balance problem in these planes and how we realized that half way to the runway…
