Really?

I was driving up I-20 towards Lake Oconee for an office meeting this morning when I thought I saw an unique name of a town. But it went by very fast. Decided to turn around, took an exit 5 miles later and came around, drove back for 9 miles, took another exit and turned back again and then drove slowly till I could get the spot.

Sure enough! A town called Social Circle!!! Just when I thought here in Georgia, our innovation in naming places peaked when we named every street in Atlanta, “Peachtree”!!!

Life in village – 2

This shot is from right outside the hut that I was born in. The ladies are manually separating the grain (rice) from the chaff using – what we call in Bengali, “kulo”. Does anybody happen to know what is the English word for it?

Truckload of words!!

Saw this on Durgapur Expressway near Palsit. Somebody must have decided to paint out all the English words he knew on this truck. I get “Quick Service Best Service”. But what is “Go Luck”? Note how under “Fast”, it says “Slow Drive” 🙂
“Only Export” – that has to be a stretch!! The ultimate is the last line “Don’t Sorry Fast” 🙂
Finally, note the Hindi scribbling where the license plate ought to be. I think the license number is painted above “Please”!!!
