Can you explain this?
Every time I go out to boat, this sign as we enter the parking lot confuses me. Do you see the problem? I am coming along the road (which is one way anyways) and then I see this sign as I enter the lot. What is the big point putting a sign “Enter only” on my side? What else can I do?
I understand that sign being on the other side to warn anybody attempting to come the other way that you cannot exit there – it is an entrance only point. But why for me?
Never quite figured that one out.

How strong was that bourbon?
This evening, Sharmila, Jay Jay and I were sitting outside Truck and Tap in downtown Alpharetta. I was having my Old Fashioned and enjoying watching the milieu of people walking by. A gentleman walked up to us and asked – “Did you see that?”, pointing apparently to the sky behind us.
We looked back. And I did a doubletake. My first reaction was – “How strong was the bourbon Jared gave me today?”
And then I realized, I was not seeing double. That was a pair of rainbows in the sky!!!

Some IT humor!
Last evening, Sharmila mentioned that she needed to pick up something from Publix. We decided to stroll up to Alpharetta downtown, grab a drink by the street, pick up the stuff from Publix and then walk back. All these are within 5 minutes of us.
We had to hop around a little to find a bar that was relatively empty. Saturday evenings can be very popular in downtown Alpharetta. In the end, we landed up grabbing two drinks from South Main Kitchen and sat on their plush sofas outside.
The young lady who served us was Mackenzie (Mckinsey?). I talked to her for some time while at the bar as she made our drinks.
It is only after coming home and putting away the receipts of the day in the drawer that I noticed the cool IT humor.
For Server, it says “Down” !!

From the bartender’s corner – Mango Upside Down Cake
This is riff off the Pineapple Upside Down Cake cocktail. Instead of pineapple juice, I used mango juice. The curious among you might be wondering why. The truth is I did not have pineapple juice but I did have mango juice. And I thought vanilla vodka, a tropical fruit and some grenadine is exactly what the doctor had prescribed for this sultry Atlanta afternoon.

First time reached this milestone!
This is only my second car in the last 30 years (or as long as I have been driving). Trusted ride for fifteen years. And it reached the two hundred thousand mile marker today.
Forget rear cameras or even proximity indicators, this car is so old that it does not have bluetooth or USB connectors. In a reminder of the long past, it does have a cassette player though!! Even the manufacturer stopped making this car over ten years back!!
I have taken good care of it – never missed a maintenance cycle and it has, in turn, taken good care of me – no major breakdowns.
The day of parting is coming though. At current gas prices, every time I fill it up, the value almost doubles!
I still cannot get myself around to get rid of it yet!
