Flight delays came early?
Traveling weekly out of Atlanta airport has taught me some lessons. One of them is from June thru September, avoid flying out or into the airport in the evenings. There will inevitably be some showers or lightning or weather issue and flights will get delayed. The maxim has not failed me for 5 years.
It caught me early this year. It is May 22 today and already my flight to Boston this evening has been delayed thrice ๐ And all that after I had to fight some heavy traffic to get to the airport barely on time. Of course, the fact that I am staying off wine as much as is possible for a few days to get my weight down by a couple of pounds is not helping the situation at all ๐
Really no wine???
Replacing wine with ‘whine’? ๐
I remember when I used to work a Deloitte, there was this one summer, Thursday afternoon where our flight back to Atlanta got delayed due to a rain stop—after everyone had boarded the plane. We then sat on the plane, on the tarmac, for 2.5 hours before the rain stop was lifted and we were able to fly home. I guess the pilot didn’t want to unboard and the re-board the whole pane. It got pretty hot in that plane– the tarmac gave off a lot of heat!
Rajib, I’m following you today. I’m at the airport too.
And I thought you were going to say something about all the seniors traveling today.
Shari, don’t feel too bad for me – it is just for a few days. Trying to get the weight down a couple of pounds.
Bob, ya ya ya ๐
Lara, I think I took off right around the time you came in to the airport (6:40). Seems like today has been a day of missed connections!! ๐
