… without a trip to the birthplace of the Irish’s biggest contribution to the world – Guinness Beer!

This memorial is dedicated to those that were affected by the Potato Famine in Ireland. There are 7 people here and the same sculptor – Rowan Gillespie – has a sculpture called “Migrants” in Toronto, Canada. Only 5 people are there representing the rough ratio of people that perished in their real journeys 150 years back.

This modern day restaurant boat is a replica of the original boat that were used by desperate Irish folks trying to escape the Potato famine. Many perished on the way and were thrown overboard. Hence the nickname Coffin Boat.

This is one of the 24 bridges in Dublin over River Liffey. This is shaped like a harp which is the national symbol of Ireland. Making it the only country whose national symbol is a musical instrument.

A building in the shape of a beer mug. Apparently at the perfect angle for beer to be poured!

Today is our last day. We are taking it light with some local tours in the city. First on the agenda – go up and down River Liffey.

(The picture was taken in our bus driver’s rearview mirror.)

The three again hit the sack moment the bus started our trip back!
