Am I suffering from Covid Blues?

I was never a fan of the Gulf – but found Marco Island water color last month to be exquisitely beautiful. I never liked the color of water on the Atlantic side (but liked the waves) and now Myrtle Beach water looks so beautiful.

I think after not having vacations for nearly a year, I am suffering from the Covid Blues!!

Getting to see Kwok Poon

The last time I met Kwok, we had remembered the times we had worked together back in the days. You might remember from the post then how I was absolutely taken in by this youngster’s willingness to learn new things and put in the hard work to do so.

That meeting was in 2017. I was visiting his town. Four years later, he was visiting mine. And we arranged to make sure we get some time for a drink and dinner.

This time our discussions were a little more esoteric than Unix scripts – Talent and Time. We had some good exchanges of experiences on the difficulties of nurturing and managing Talent. And also an in-depth discussion around whether Time is real or something we have made up to make sense of this universe.

Great time spent with this youngster.

Daddy – daughter DIY project

I have been wanting to get myself a nice personalized notepad to write letters on. The problem is finding a company that will do it for you on fountain pen safe paper. The ones that say they can will charge over $2 per page!

So, Nikita and I did a DIY project. For the first time in my life, we made a personalized, fountain pen safe notepad. After reading up quite a few fountain pen users’ forums, I realized that HP Premium 32 would be the best option for me. To personalize it, I tried Word – but the margins were messy. Finally, Powerpoint turned out to be the best solution.

Niki and I learnt the art of making a notepad from printed paper, back cardboard and binding glue from a few Youtube videos. And a few adaptations here and there – voila! We have a perfect notepad. It cost me less than 6 cents per page!!
