From the bartender’s corner: Irish Prick

Remember the prickly pear liqueur I got from Malta. Found a cocktail to be made with it. Irish whiskey, honey liqueur and prickly pear liqueur. Sweet on the nose and palate.

Wait! I do not get this

I saw this in all the Indian newspapers a couple of days back. What I do not get this is the following: if “n” trains are being inaugurated from “m” states, “m” has to be strictly less than or equal to “n”, right?

Is this some kind of mushroom?

While walking with Jay Jay and Sharmila to downtown, we saw this on the road side. As you can see, it had rained before this and this was in a shaded area (covered by trees). It is fairly large – about 9 inches. If you zoom it, it looks like those things you see on the sea beds. (sea anemones?) Of course, this is in land – at about 1100 feet above sea level.

Is this a mushroom? Anybody knows?

From the bartender’s corner: “Punjab da Ruby”

This is the first of the Indian themed cocktails. It is take on the Purple Ruby. It has pomegranate juice (to give it the Indian touch, used Spicy Pomegranate juice), Honey liqueur (Barenjager), Lime juice and for Vodka, I used the Smoke Lab Classic Vodka from Punjab in India!!

Came out nice!

Tried the custom paper today to write to my penpal in Australia

This is not paper at all. It is cloth. Each piece is hand made. A bit too coarse for fountain pen nibs. But ball points write great. Love the feel of traction of the ball point rolling over the craggy surface.

What is the common theme?

Do you see the connection among the four bottles? That is a gin, vodka, single malt and a liqueur from India. Thinking of doing a few cocktails with India theme. I guess to keep up with times, I should strictly say “Bharat” theme. If you have some ideas about recipes, let me know!
