Indian Olympics
Couple of days back, I had written about how I, having been conditioned by NBC’s coverage was surprised to find out that we were trailing China in gold and medal count in general. Which led to some interesting observations and comments from my friends including how China’s coverage is also one-sided and some analysis of who is leading in medals per thousand people of population and per dollar of GDP and such.
After reading all the comments, I came to realize the advantage of growing up in India. Since we could not win any medal by ourselves, we got to see all the great athletes from all the countries ๐

Lighter Side of Life: Trying to address her greying roots, Sharmila applied some new fangled stuff (what are they called? conditioner? artificial colorizer? ) on her hair. With enough time in hand, towel in head and all, she finally goes thru the details in the label. Sure enough, it says Blonde and not Brown!!! Anybody has some urgent work for me that can keep me away from home for a few hours? ๐ย โ withย Sharmila Roy.

Flying backwards
Delta seems to recognize that those folks in DC are taking this country backwards. Note how I leave Atlanta this evening at 7 pm and after 2 hours of flight still manage to reach DC YESTERDAY!!!ย โ atย Delta Sky Club – Concourse E.

Last night, over dinner, I was explaining to my good friend Garry Capers that I cannot seem to understand my body. If I double my running in a month, my body weight remains the same. This time in India, I ate more sweets, fried foods, junk foods and rice than you can shake a stick at. Came back home and sure enough, the weight was exactly the same at 158 pounds. Totally incomprehensible. He rather wisely pointed out that “You may have the same weight but you are carrying it differently” ๐ Touche!!
BTW, I am so going to hate anybody who “Like”s this ๐
