We went to the highest pub, the birthplace of the most popular Irish beer in the world and then we topped it off with the oldest bar in Ireland. Called Brazen Head, this was established in the 12th century.

Note that later, when I was doing the research, I found that there is a Sean’s Bar in Athlone (we went past it yesterday to Galway) that claims to be the oldest pub and that goes back to 900 AD!
