Another first for flight delay!
The pilot just announced that we are delayed because one of the maintenance guy’s hat got sucked in (presumably by the jet engine)!!! This is as close as it gets to the dog eating the pilot’s homework 🙂

This is probably one of the hat-trick of excuses they have kept up their sleeve!!!
Hopefully, the maintenance guy did not get hurt. I read earlier on gruesome accident in Texas of one engineer getting sucked into the jet . Hope some body will invent a barrier which will allow air to flow in but stop objects.
He was fine. The maintenance guy extracted the hat and we were off in about 45 minutes
