Airline merger
US Govt blocks American Airlines – US Airways merger citing it might lead to higher fares.
In a related news, US Govt also announced increase in income taxes to fund the department of merger blocking đŸ™‚
So the DoJ and co were ok with United-Continental and Delta-Northwest but found AA-US Air to be objectionable?
Maybe the airline lobby needs to hire the gun lobby

Texas AG Greg Abott, who is running for next year’s gubernatorial elections to replace Rick Perry, often boasts that he has filed 27 lawsuits against Eric Holder over issues related to VRA, climate change, health care etc. This is the first time he went to court WITH Holder to block the merger. Strange bedfellows.
