Phase 2 of 4 completed

Most of all the clothes are now taken care of. In all, got rid of about 220 pieces of clothes – that is 75% gone!

I have about 70 now – including motorcycle clothes, running clothes, office clothes, casual wear, sleep wear, yard work clothes and all that – for both winter and summer.

I think I can go down 20 more to about 50. 10 are the funny T-shirts of this summer that will go away in a year. I think I still have 10-15 more than I need because I cannot gauge correctly how much winter clothes I might need. I have a sense between my running jackets, office jackets, motorcycle jackets, sweater and warm layers, I can go down a few more. But might need to go thru a winter and then make the call.

Phase 3 will be all the accessories – shoes, caps, gloves, socks etc.

Then will be Phase 4 – how to get the world’s largest suitcase!! πŸ™‚

From the bartender’s corner – Tangaroa

I believe the name Tangaroa means the God of Ocean – Polynesian and Maori mythology. The drinks is in line with that visual of ocean beaches and hot summers. It is a mango based cocktail.

1 ounce of white rum and amber rum each, 1/4 ounce of amaretto and lime juice and 2 ounces of mango juice.

Garnish with a mango slice.

Met the old Sunday morning runners’ group

This morning, I went to check out the new skateboarding rink. Good news – there were no kids there to laugh at me πŸ™‚ On my way back, I went to the Starbucks that the old Sunday morning Bengali running group usually hangs out after the run.

I have not run with this group in probably over a couple of years. Even the coffee visits have become fairly rare. It was good to catch up with the old and new runners…

My friends from Ballground

Usually Sundays are the days I drop by at Barrel House Coffee in Ballground, GA. Get to catch up on some reading and blog writing as well as meet up with my familiar friends there. Today, I decided to show up on a Saturday after a longish ride.

Good news is that I got to see Kevin after quite some time. Got a chance to catch up on his software coding of video games (I believe he has switched to Godot from Unity – still doing C#). The ever charming duo of Autumn and Allison were there too. Found out that Margot got a great opportunity over the weekend and has moved to Birmingham!

Started reading a new book – “Beginners”.

From the bartender’s corner – Sweet Revenge Punch

At nearly 40% ABV, Sweet Revenge packs a punch alright. I actually was not even sure what it is till I picked it up from a local liquor store. Turns out the base of this liqueur is American whisky with wild strawberries and citrus notes added.

A Sweet Revenge Punch is made by mixing 2 ounces of the liqueur with 3 parts of cranberry juice, 1 part of Triple sec and a dash of lime juice.

This guy is incorrigible

John always has a surprise up his sleeve every time we go out for a ride. Usually, they come in the shape and form of yet another new motorbike. This time was no exception. I made him count all the motorbikes he has had ever since we went to motorbike safety class together. I came up with 10. And I am sure I missed some. But this one – Honda Goldwing (DCT) is probably the best looking one. Yet, that is πŸ™‚
