I do not think I am under the weather….

To understand my attitude towards medicine, you have to take into consideration three things:
1. I come from a long line of hypochondriacs. For example, when the doctor tells my dad during a visit that he does not think he is a hypochondriac, my dad thinks that is the GOOD NEWS!! ๐Ÿ™‚
2. In India, everybody is a freelance doctor. Very few have medicine degrees but everybody has an opinion on what is the required cure. (you do not need a prescription for most medicine in India). Any trace of a symptom rearing its head will be mercilessly squelched by a plethora of medicines as a preventive measure ๐Ÿ™‚ Every time I go to India, my brother, for example will shove Amoxicilins by the scores (and they are dirt cheap in India) in my bag for Sharmila’s annual strep throat attack.
3. I love being a contrarian and like people who sponsor and seek contrarian thoughts.

With the end result that, I usually stay away from most medicines if I can help it. My excuse code is – let the immunity system figure it out first.

But today, even I, after a long 12-15 year hiatus, got sick and tired of being in bed for four days and succumbed to my brother. Took out one of those antibiotic tablets he sends for Sharmila and popped it. I called him and told him of the unthinkable I have done and also said that since I never take medicine, I figured, one will do the magic. He said something derogatory about life not being math and that I should have three a day for three days. I told him I will do so when he produces his Doctor’s certificate ๐Ÿ™‚

But I do realize that for me to pop an antibiotic, I am no more under the weather. I am clearly and squarely under the climate now ๐Ÿ™‚

Dreamliner Dome

New Orleans Superdome to be renamed the Dreamliner Dome ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is an irony – switched to NFL channel and the ticker says -“NFL and GE partner for concussion research”. How about some partnership with General Electricity for some real electricity? ๐Ÿ™‚

Caught in the middle!!

There is at least one person who tonight will be extremely torn after the Super Bowl. And that is Mrs. Harbaugh ๐Ÿ™‚ ย She cannot possibly show too much happiness nor too much sadness !!!

To a lesser extent, Jay Harbaugh – 23-year old son of 49-ers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh will be in somewhat of a same predicament. He works for his uncle Raven’s head coach John Harbaugh as part of video and strength staff!!!

The difficult..

My good friend Larry today wrote to me (in a different context) “The difficult we do today. The impossible takes a little bit longer”.
Getting back to the current context, being down with flu like symptoms, nothing looks difficult to me today. Everything seems impossible… ๐Ÿ™

Easier one…

Puzzle time: The last puzzle given by my brother in law – I am still trying to decipher the answer from three of my friends – one of whom is the brainy-types and has changed his mind thrice….

But today is Thursday and I should be flying home…. so here is one that is easier …

How do you get 100 using one “1” and four “7”s. You can use plus, minus, multiple, divide symbols and parentheses.

e.g. 177-77

Now give me another answer…

If you have cracked it, send me PM. I will recognize you publicly…
