Brought to you by Roy-ters: From the dept of useless research
Scientists at The Institute of Cancer Research, London, found that body mass index, waist-hip ratio, waist-height ratio and waist circumference all increased with increasing exposure to light at night.
Are you kidding me? This the Institute of “Cancer” Research. Why are they studying what makes people fat? And how did they even come up with the idea of switching off and on the lights as people sleep? Who is giving them research money?
Can they not, for just now, accept eating less food, exercising a little more as the answer? And whatever little fat is leftover, maybe they can come back to it after they have….. let’s say…. errrr…. found a cure for cancer or something?
You are trying to make light of the fact that light( incandescent or otherwise) during night time slumber does not make a man light(weight)! But wait , obesity do have direct or indirect link to carcinoma! The scientists of the cancer research Institute may have come out with this bizarre fact while researching cancer but the side effects of the study shall definitely benifit many, if not in cancer study!!
Human photosynthesis 🙂
This research forgot to mention that the light that fattens you the most can only be found in refrigerator lamps.
I believe the research states that the increase is due to the activities correlated to light at night and to the way the human body processes lipids at night. Isn’t it so?
The dark side is starting to look better and better
Man! This is bizarre! I cannot sleep with at least the night light on!!!
