Richard Andersen

Here is a small experience that inspired me about values. As I was boarding the flight to NY last night, I was chatting up the flight attendant who has been with Delta for over 25 years. I asked her about an interesting event she experienced. She talked about how just the previous day, the CEO of Delta was in her flight. She regretted she could not serve him because she takes care of first class and he with his office people were sitting waaaaay back in economy. I called up one of his direct reports who I happened to know professionally and he confirmed that the CEO travels economy in his own airline for business!!!
I recognize there are different styles to succeed but this story somehow spoke to me!

More conundrum

“Severe obesity skyrockets” (USA Today).
“3 AA Flights make mid-flight emergency landings” Β (CNN Today)
Anybody else see the connection? We are overworking those poor workhorses πŸ˜‰

Humor inflight!

Getting out of Dallas, that was the most hilarious announcement made by a flight attendant to shut down our phones. He named every single type of device, puns on those names, telecom carriers, operating systems, TV brands that I know of and asked us to shut them down. Unless the device kept us alive – which he insisted that we have to prove by shutting it down once πŸ™‚ And then he capped it off by exhorting the pilot “Ok, Captain, let’s go-go-go” πŸ˜‰ Every single passenger was in fits of laughter.

Now here is the twist. I am NOT on Southwest this morning. I am on Delta!!

Newton’s law

Seahawk’s Sherman on NFL TV (continuing to diss Patriots’ Brady): “It’s just one of those things where Newton’s third law of motion applies. It’s one of those things where every action has an equal or greater reaction”.
Ummm… I am quite sure that is NOT what Newton said :-).
