After one and a half days of journey, finally reached home. Freshened up, had some snacks and then headed out to Alpharetta downtown with Sharmila and Jay Jay. Chatted up with our old friends in Chiringa, grabbed a couple of drinks and then settled down by the Green to watch all the cornhole games going on.

It was a very pleasant evening to just sit out and watch the crowds over a glass of wine. The best sight happened late in the evening. An elderly gentleman started practicing some throws. There is nothing uncommon about that. Except that he waas carrying a baby in his other hand.

I could not help myself but go up and introduce myself. I told him that this is the best thing I have seen in some time. Turns out the baby is his grand child who just turned 12 weeks. He lives in Johns Creek and his daughter lives in Roswell. They meet at the Alpharetta Green regularly for evenings out. I told him I will take a picture of him and the grandchild when he is playing.

The baby was too cute!! Again, best thing I have seen in some time. Loving this downtown living!

The fiery red dusk reflecting on the buildings on the east side of Avalon this evening. Stepped out of the Whole Foods and backtracked immediately with a “Whoa”! It was that eye catching!!

It is a very small and humble corner of the new house. But I have it all cleaned out and all the pens, books and stationery are in their place. Sufficiently minimalistic to clear out my mind and put some pen to the paper.

This evening, Sharmila, Jay Jay and I were sitting outside Truck and Tap in downtown Alpharetta. I was having my Old Fashioned and enjoying watching the milieu of people walking by. A gentleman walked up to us and asked – “Did you see that?”, pointing apparently to the sky behind us.

We looked back. And I did a doubletake. My first reaction was – “How strong was the bourbon Jared gave me today?”

And then I realized, I was not seeing double. That was a pair of rainbows in the sky!!!

It’s like we were looking at two different skies at the same time. This is from the patio of our new house.

This is only my second car in the last 30 years (or as long as I have been driving). Trusted ride for fifteen years. And it reached the two hundred thousand mile marker today.

Forget rear cameras or even proximity indicators, this car is so old that it does not have bluetooth or USB connectors. In a reminder of the long past, it does have a cassette player though!! Even the manufacturer stopped making this car over ten years back!!

I have taken good care of it – never missed a maintenance cycle and it has, in turn, taken good care of me – no major breakdowns.

The day of parting is coming though. At current gas prices, every time I fill it up, the value almost doubles!

I still cannot get myself around to get rid of it yet!

I think this is an American goldfinch. Some of you who are experts in birds might be able to correct or confirm this. Can you spot the female of the pair who had just taken flight? (Check on the left side close to the sidewalk).
