Beautiful rainbow in Alpharetta downtown
This dog is getting a reputation
Jay Jay and I were sitting beside Alpharetta Green watching the kids and parents play soccer when a gentleman walked up to us and asked me – “Did your dog go to Truck and Tap today?” Not sure of the context, I replied – “No. But he was there yesterday.”
“I know. We watched him listening to the live music the whole time!!”
“Yep! That be our dog alright!!”
Cue in the live music…
Taking in the joie de vivre of Taste of Alpharetta
We strolled all over Taste of Alpharetta – ever conscious of not spilling our wine from plastic glasses while dodging thru the seemingly endless throng of people, kids and dogs. Eventually we tired out and just sat on the road (all roads were blocked off) – in what might be described in Bengali as “ঠ্যাং ছড়িয়ে” – to do some people watching.
Taste of Alpharetta
Less Abbey Road, London. More Main Street, Alpharetta.
Ran into two young friends in downtown Alpharetta
Sharmila, Surya and I walked up to downtown Alpharetta and settled by the green. They grabbed some Indian food from Curry Up Now. I was walking to Chiringa to pick up a glass of wine when I thought a young lady sitting at a table outside was waving at my direction.
My instinctive reaction was to look behind me. And then I realized she meant to wave at me. It is then that I recognized that it was Puspita. She was sitting with her friend – Rupkatha – somebody I have talked with but never met.
That chance meeting gave me an opportunity to catch up on their young careers. Was thrilled to learn that Rupkatha is moving to DC (she will be in Federal Reserve Bank). I think Nikita will have a great time getting to know her.
For some reason, we talked about philately, numismatism, phillolumen and vexillology!
Puspita and Rupkatha, do you remember how we got started talking about those things?

After coffee… next up… Farmers’ Market
The temperatures are a-rising. On top of all the fresh local vegetables, eggs, bread, honey… now we have the local kiddos having fun in the water fountain! I can watch them for hours. Such blissful fun they have. All they need is some water and they can entertain themselves endlessly.
Fortunately, no parent has yet come up with the Bengalis’ much dreaded “thhanda legey jaaabey” (thou shalt catch a cold)
